cookie exchange recipe

Welcome to my entry for Scrappy Jessi's Christmas cookie exchange! Youve got to try these brownies!

OATMEAL BROWNIES
(from taste of home)
I've been making these brownies for about 8 years since I discovered the recipe in a taste of home magazine while sitting in a drs. office! thats also when I first discovered the magazine and started buying it.
Everyone loves these brownies. I actually made a pan full last night to take to work today for someones birthday treat. the whole pan got eaten! they really are delicious!
so here is the recipe!
1 - 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup M&M miniature baking bits
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter or margerine melted
1 package fudge brownie mix (13 x 9 in pan size)

In a bowl; combine the first seven ingredients; mix well. Set aside 1 cup of oat mixture for topping. Press the remaining mixture into a greased 13x 9 inch pan. Prepare the brownie batter according to package directions. Spread over the crust. Sprinkle with the reserved oat mixture. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool and cut into bars.

do be sure to try these out girls!

  18. I'm not looking, I'm not looking, I'm not looking ...! Sigh. I looked. NO FAIR! They look YUMMY, easy to make, and most of all, they look like 10 more pounds on each of my already ample thighs.
