There are wonderful people in this world!

dr seuss quilt
So this is the little quilt that I ordered on Etsy. I wanted to find a dr. seuss blanket or crib set at the store.. but nothing.. then I thought I'd make a rag quilt, but knew I probably wouldnt. then i thought I'd buy the fabric and have my friend becky at work make one for me. But when I started looking for the fabric, I realized it would be easier to buy one that someone else had already made. so I found this Etsy site farmernurse and she had somewonderful smaller rag quilts already made. I contacted her and she said she could make a bigger one... then I told her that it was for baby jacob and a tiny bit about his situation and that the shower is next sunday. And she said she could do it!! And that wonderful woman threw this quilt together like the next day and mailed it on sat and it got here yesterday!! You should see the sock monkey rag quilt she has on her site too.. soooo stinking cute! I want a giant one for myself!
so Thank you Very much Kathy Turk! my little grandbaby is going to love his quilt and so will his mommy and so do I!

  2. what a treasure! I love that line of Dr. Seuss fabric. When my older daughter was born, a family friend gave us a rag quilt in a similar style. It is used to this day.

  4. OM Gosh.......perfect. I love it. So colorful. I can see Jacob on his tummy looking at all those colors.
It's probably too latee but wouldn't it be fun to have everyone coming to the shower bring a Dr. Suess book.
    Can't wait to see this shower......can I come......just kidding.

  9. Dear Viv,
This quilt is so beautiful but I am praying so hard for Jacob. I want you to know that my best friends's niece had the same condition. I know these things differ but we were all really scared and it was pretty dicey. Well, MacKenzie is working on her MSW right now...how about that? There can be positive outcomes...and I know how hard and scarey it is.
I have been deep in my own world and thoughts and caught up on all of your notes. Your babies are just beautiful and I know why you love them so much!
I am drooling over the bears and wishing I could get my act together better. I will... You are a star!
Sending you many prayers and big hugs,
    Suz

  11. Like you always say "That quilt is so stinking cute!" I love making rag quilts...it's the perfect quilt for beginning sewers (sewists?) to make because it doesn't take a quilt frame. I made a sock monkey lap quilt that way for my youngest daughter (28 but looks 17) It's one of her favorite things. =D

  12. Happy Spring Vivian, I have spent my first morning back on the computer visiting the past six months of my favorite people. Your six months have been very busy and very full of wonderful baby smiles! I love that you love Dr. Seuss. Go Dog Go! Elizabeth
