I am not afraid of mice.. and I do actually think they are cute for the most part.. In fact there was a time in my life when I had a couple of fat rats for pets. but I dont like to be surprised by any type of little critter running around in my house!
I came in after being out to dinner with 4 girlfriends.. (such fun!) and frannie and figgy did not come running to see me... I went into the kitchen and they were extremely interested in something else that was hiding behind the vacuum cleaner that I had left out yesterday! I moved it a little and out it came!! My son and his buddy came out and wanted to catch it.. so Now I had two adult?? boys and 2 cats after one litte (though rather large) mouse! it ran towards me.. and up onto the chair I jumped.. as I screamed ummm.... and screamed.. umm.. a few times...
robert caught it.. then held it in front of the cats noses.. it was jumping around and I thought it would bite them.. so I screamed again.. get it out of here!! He said he was going to kill it.. and then I screamed some more.. "YOure not going to kill it!! take it out and let it go in the cemetary!! " then he started out the door talking about how it would come back in and he was going to have to kill it.. so I ran in the bathroom and opened the window and screamed some more at my husband... "dont let him kill that thing!! make him let it go.." I got a "what the hell are you talking about and whats going on in there?" then I yelled some more telling him about what was going on.. as my son carried the poor thing by the tail out to the barn to show him!
I dont know what happen to the mouse..
frannie and figgy are still looking for it!
and I have a sore throat!!!!!!!
I can almost picture it! Too funny. I am the same way about critters, though. No killing. The kids always ask me to get the spiders/bugs/etc because they know I'll catch them. My hubby smushes them.
ReplyDeleteI love your story. I would do the same thing. No animal killing in my house. My love doesn't understand it always but listens to me.......sometimes.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
greetings and a hug.
maybe the part about taking him to the cemetery caused some confusion...we has a mouse running around at work a few weeks ago...he was cute...but i don't like how fast they are...that's what freaks me out about them...plus the fact that they should be outside...cute story Viv!!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! Haha, Viv, I know it was probably a crazy time but it makes for a sort of funny story! My mother is deathly afraid of mice. Shes not quite a young woman anymore but she will jump, with the ease of a young girl, onto a table or other high place, if she sense one anywhere in here vicinity.
ReplyDeleteYikes, poor thing, hope it got away unscathed.
UH OH VIV __ YIKEY YIKES double yikes !! I am so sorry the only good mouse is a ( delicately put for your sensibilities an expired mouse )) I AM as afraid and grossed out as if it were a LION -or snake . Moving to the country on acreage hasn't helped lol!! Can we say {{{field mice }}}}-- THis is me shaking -thinking about it . Now you see my bloodthirsty side --
ReplyDeleteI cannot watch them even on t.v --or sorry :( dwell on your pictures -- a fast scan past those . Also they carry diseases --ARGH !! can't dwell on that - OK gotta wipe that critter from my mind -- Kathy - ga
UH OH back again -- DID I say I scream like a girl (HA HA ) if I ever see one , even outside in the field -- Gives my husband heart failure !! KAthy - ♥- now i need therapy
ReplyDeleteLooking back it sounds funny, but I would have right there with you on that chair screaming.
ReplyDeleteI love this story!!..m.
ReplyDeleteI love this story!!..m.
ReplyDeletePoor critter was probably trying to stay warm! Glad you released (or tried to) him. We had a chipmunk about 7 months ago in the house...for 2 weeks. None of the 3 cats I have could catch it (it was on the 1st floor with the dog, so it was a smart chippie). lol!! I would have screamed too!
ReplyDeleteOh no not a sore throat??? Take a teaspoon full of vinegar (apple cider if you have it! Helps change the PH balance to kill the germs that are trying to attach... A nurse friend turned me on to this.
ReplyDeleteStay Well, Carrie
oh you had my heart jumping with each move you made!!!!
ReplyDeleteawwwww- cute post! hahahaha- cats are something else!
ReplyDeleteHope your throat feels better soon!
Now bundle up and snuggle with the figster and fransy :O)
Lol...mice possess a strange power over the human psyche!
ReplyDeleteDarLie
