reindeer games!

Thank God its Friday!! this week seemed to last forever. Probably mostly because I battled this cold all week. Thankfully Im feeling much better tonight.

I have a busy weekend planned.. well its technically not planned.. I need to make a list and a plan before I go to bed tonight, so I know exactly what I should be doing when I get up in the morning.

I have crafting, cleaning, shopping and baking to do and our union christmas party to go to tomorrow night. Plus, I'm on call and have home visits I have to do tomorrow as well as to deal with any new reports that might come in over the weekend.

I also want to post pictures from the ornie swap Im in. Ive opened 5 really awesome things so far. theres 13 girls in the swap, so lots more to open!!

hows everyone else doing with holiday preparations?

I'm feeling a tiny bit overwhelmed.. but I always do at this time of year. Theres always so much I want to do. Just need to remember the real reason... Jesus... soooo easy to lose sight.

In other news... my daughter in love, tiffany who is due Jan 4th, went to the dr this week and the baby is breech. they have her coming back on wednesday to do some pre-op stuff. I think they are going to schedule a c- section instead of taking chances. they are a bit upset about it. I dont blame them. so I believe they are looking for a date of dec 28th. OMGosh girls!! I'm gonna have a grand daughter! well, please keep them in your prayers. thank you!

nothing.. really...

Remember seeing this cup in so many pictures? I think I told you it was coming to the end of its sweet little life.. it has a lot of cracks and black chippy spots inside. I decided it really needed to be retired. so it has become a decoration. I do love that cup. i still havent found the perfect replacement for it yet. And my tea just doesnt taste the same in any other of my cups! (I do have a lot of other cups.... but just not the right one!) so I will be keeping my eyes open for a new one.

speaking of eyes.. mine are burning. remember that cold I said I wasnt going to get? well I got it. just a head cold, but I really have to try to ignore it! too many things to do! ya know?!

Look at my precious babies! arent they purrty!? omg.. I just love them so much!

faux cupcake tutorial

HEY, lets make christmas cupcakes!!!

because several of you have asked me how,
I decided to show you. These are so easy
to make.
you will need:
Plaster of paris
pretty cupcake liners and a cupcake pan
cute little accents to use as cupcake toppers
toothpicks
hot glue
medium size styrofoam balls
lightweight spackle
cake decorating kit
glitters in what ever colors you like
(optional, acrylic paint if you choose to
color your frosting)


step 1: place cupcake papers in cupcake tins.
step 2: mix plaster of paris according to
directions, (usually 2 parts plaster and 1 part
water.) To make 6 cupcakes, I use 2 cups of
plaster and 1 cup of water.
Stir well and then fill cupcake liners. These
need toset for about 24 hours.

step 3: decide what your going to use for your
toppers and glue toothpicks on the the back
of them. I used my hot glue gun.

Step 4: cut three styrofoam balls in half. These
will be the tops to your cupcakes.
Step 5: have some snacks! lol!

Step 6: you will need lightweight spackle and
a cake decorating kit. If you are choosing to
color your frosting something other then white
you will want to mix some in a bowl with a few
drops of acrylic paint. I like plain white for
christmas. Load your frosting bag using the tip
pictured above.
(sorry I dont know what that tip is called!)

Step 7: put a glob of "frosting" on the plaster
bottom and then press one of the half styro-
foam balls on top.

Step 8: Now you can pipe your frosting onto
the top of your cupcakes.
Step 9: sprinkle with glitter and gentle push
your topper in! Then leave them to sit a few
days until you're sure they are totally hardened!

Now be prepared to warn people that they cant
eat these! because they will think they can!!

Torry Pie is gonna be one on thursday! wow.. this year went sooo fast!

A year ago today we were rushing time and hoping that he would come soon!!

Now, I would like to slow it down and keep him little forever.. ..

he's just soooooo freaken awesome. You probably dont already know this,but OMG i love that baby!!!

Uncle Robby (also expecting a baby in about a month) gave Torry his own little tool set..

maybe a little too old for him, but both of them were tickled with it!

Anyways, we had a lot of fun and Torry probably wondered what the heck was going on. but I think he loves coming to grammies house. Theres always something fun going on here!

and its his mommys birthday this week too!

So, today I'm having a pajama day. puttering and hanging out with figgy and frannie. usually the kids all come over on sundays, but I told them not to last night! I went shopping on thursday, friday and again sat morning. Then I came home and cleaned the house for the party. I think everyone left by 10:00 last night. but I knew i needed a day to lay low today. plus I think I'm getting a cold or something... just gonna ignore that idea though! I shouldnt have even wrote that!!

so off I go.. gotta make a reindeer!
