on this snowy morning!

Im sending a package from here.......to utah! 

to miss shirleys house!

and this little valentine owl is excited to be going away!

hopefully this package will make it to her by valentines day.  Luckily my husbands friend was at out house at 5:30 this morning in his big truck, plowing us out!  So grateful, so now I can make a trip out to the post office this morning!

 

we have a lot of snow here!  I'm guessing a good 18 inches came down yesterday.  not as bad as our friends along the east coast.   

  

I have to admit that the snow really is pretty. 

  

but, Id rather stay inside and enjoy this view instead!

valentine mail call.. and the winner is...

We are supposed to get  a pretty good winter storm today.  not as bad as the east coast.. but where I am they are calling for up to 14 inches of snow.   Im trying to decide whether or not to go to work.  Im thinking not....  It would be so much better not to have to worry about driving in nasty weather and to just stay home and play!  I have time that I have to used up before the end of march.. so I may as well use one of those days!

so.. back to the cute stuff..   I was in a valentine ornie  swap with a a bunch of my girlies.  and recieved a package of awesomeness this week.  I need another valentine tree!  each heart had to come with a quote about friendship..

soooo.... MORE Valentine mail came yesterday !!  From our Dear Friend Elizabeth.

She always always has spoiled me since the very beginning of our bloghood friendship!

look how stinking cute thise are!!  I am so lucky to have such a wonderful collection of Elizabeth creations that span the whole year of holidays! 

Each of Elizabeths creations are so intricate!    thank you so much Elizabeth!!

and .. she always adds to my vintage valentine collection.  Sweet SweetSweet!!  they just dont even begin to make them like they used too. 

Torry  and Marla pie valentine ornaments !!  make me smile!

I am officially done valentine creating I think.  except to bake cookies for my family this weekend...

OK.. so to be honest?  I was making this as a giveaway... but guess what... I'm keeping this one and Making another one for one of you.   this is the third one I made, the first two were gifts.

just another monday morning..

 

Another monday morning..  wow.. they always come so fast!    And friday always seems to come so slow!  

I had a pretty laid back weekend.  Saturday night one of my best friends and my daughter and I went to see 

Les Mis... finally...    It was really good.  I thought they could have used someone other then russell crowe in his part,  but other then that.. I loved it. 

Yesterday I had company all day.. my two besties came over and we had a little tea party! It was nice to  just sit around talking and relaxing.  After they left, Bethany and Torry pie came over til about 8:00 last night. Torry is always very entertaining, he is the happiest little guy, and he cracks me up!  not to mention that he is freaken the cutest little thing!  I am blessed with the most adorable grandbabies!  (i know biased..)

so all in all,  it was a very pleasant weekend.

I managed to get all my valentine cards and packages packed up and ready to go in todays mail.. Now the hard part.. getting myself to go to the post office!

I dont know why that is always such an ordeal for me.  but its is. 

I think I am officially done creating Valentines.  I usually make cards for all my kids but I dont think they care that much about them, so I think this year, I'll just make them cookies and that can wait til next weekend.

more valentines and heart shaped pies!

I've been playing in my craft room last night and today. with Figgy and Frannie.. my sidekicks!

 I think I might be pretty much done with my valentine crafting.  there are some things I cant show you yet that are going out in the mail this week.  some valentines and some gifties.   And, there still are a few things in my head.. but I dont know if I will get to them or not. 

I am feeling like reading a book.  I am not usually a reader.  But about once a year I read a book or two, and it is usually about this time.  february-ish. between valentines day and easter!   last year I read Heaven is Real, Water for Elephants and Steven Tylers autobiography. (well, I never finished that one..)

I went to the library the other day on my lunch and didnt take any books out!  I need to go back.   Really, I hate looking for books..  I never know what I'm looking for.  I do better at the magazine rack at barnes and noble!  lol.   but I am needing to read a good story.  Actually come to think of it, and pretty lame, but the last book I read was "we bought a zoo".  and I like it. 

Was hoping to go see Les Mis today.  but Im not sure we will, Its pretty snowy out.  I suppose I could google the weather for Rochester to see what its doing there.   I really would like to go.  Im feeling a little bored I think.  If we went to the movies, we could also go to barnes and noble!    well, we'll see.. Im thinking its not going to happen today.

I bought this little heart mini pie maker at target a couple weeks ago and have been dying to try it out..  So finally yesterday afternoon I gave it a try.  one side cuts the pie crust like a cookie cutter then you put the crusts on the inside of the thingy, put a little filling in it and squeeze the sides together and it crimps and seals them.

they turned out cute and oh so good... but I have to admit that it would have been easier and faster to just have made a regular size pie!  

 Now I just want to eat them all.......
