SO.. Easter has come and gone.. Now its time to put all my precious easter things away! Well, I'm not doing it til this weekend.. but just the thought of it is disturbing!
There is just so much cute cute cute stuff! This happens every time a decorating holiday ends! Easter , halloween , Christmas, valentines.. I have the cutest darn things collected and made over the years. I hate packing it all away in bins.. to store until next year.
And, easter's the worst.. because I dont really have much of anything very special for spring and summer. Well, thats not totally true. I do have some stuff.. but nothing oozing of cuteness. I need to be surrounded by cuteness!
I'm going to have to give this some thought.. What would be cute that is summery and springy? I think I want to collect vintage beachy things for the summer like old tin pails and shovels.. and what should I do about spring.. probably flowery, bird nestie type things.. well, actually I do have some stuff like that.
maybe it would be nice to just lighten it up around here for the spring and summer and not do much decorating... umm.. thats probably not possible for me.
Well, thats all for now girls.. I just ordered a pizza and wings, and now I need to vacuum before it gets here. Its american idol night.. cant wait to see what Adam, danny and the 16 year old girl sing tonight!oh, and btw.. I did make my grown boys hunt for their easter eggs!! it was fun!

oh, and i'd love to see pictures of your boys. i'll bet they are so big and handsome. i saw robert at tops one day and embarrassed him terribly by talking about how he cried in the vbs nursery when he was little♥

Well, you know, you could leave things up a bit.
After all, Lent lasts a bit leading up to Easter,. So why not celebrate it for the same amount of time- if you could.
In Russia of old, they would have 'open house' for 40 days after Lent. Anyone who would come would get special foods. The house was open for all.
I would have a hard time leaving up the decorations for that long- but 2-3 weeks never hurt anyone! :)

I know this feeling well...although it's a little easier this Easter since we were on vacation and i didn't get everything out.

Glad your big boys had an egg hunt, how fun! I know what you mean about putting the stuff away. I think I'm going to wait a little while just cuz I don't have anything to replace it with!
Yeah...when comes to packing it's really give me a panic & so lazy, all i wish someone could really help me especially my hubby! decorating is really fun and i will never say "NO"

Did you make the lil' fuzzy chicks in the half shell? They're soooo adorable.
Our Easter was very quiet. My youngest son had to work, so he couldn't come over. I called my son and DIL and told them... had I been in Seattle with them, they both would have Easter baskets waiting on the porch (which was our tradition). As my boys got older we'd have them go on a basket hunt, by clues their dad laid in various parts of the house. Those were good times!!
