Ta DAH!

It seems that lately any bear orders that I've finished, Ive failed to take pictures of. I remembered this morning before these guys were picked up to snap a pic. I've been putting this order off for so long! I just didnt feel like making them. but they are done and gone now! the man who is being remembered or who this clothing belonged to was killed this past year when garbage truck came around a corner and tipped over on his car at an intersection. How awful I cant even imagine. such a freak accident. I hope his family members like the bears. the wife wanted a furry bear dressed in his clothing and the other three are made out of his shirts. Any ways.. done! paid for and time to move on to the next order.. which I've also been putting off!

Today is a sad day for Frannie and Figgy and Me! The babies are 8 weeks old and 4 of them have left us to go on to their new forever homes. I liked all the people that took them and I think they will have good lives. One of these last two is going to a friend when she gets back from her vacation and the other is unspoken for still. I have several people that have called, I'm just not sure I want them to have one of our kittens for various reasons. so I will hold her until the perfect home comes up!

I'm off for the evening to the orleans county fair. My son is doing the greased pole with some of his buddies. so we'll be up there cheering them on. say a quick prayer that it doesnt rain. it looks like it might!

Okeedokie! I'm off for tonight.. I have two more days off this weekend, so I'll surely be back! Not sure I'll get a beach day in these weekend though.... poohie!

OH what a gork I am!

Last night hubby and I went to see George Thorogood and the Destroyers at Artpark in Lewiston. what a great time! Hes still a rocker even at 60 years old.


we brought our camp chairs and found a perfect spot out of the sun and right near the gorge of the niagara river. The view was beautiful! The water was the prettiest green, blue color. And I couldnt help thinking how rough it was and that I wouldnt want to be boating down there, though there were quite a few boats out!


It struck me funny that everyone seemed so old there! I kept thinking.. Geez... how old do these people think they are, because some of them were definitely trying to look a lot younger then they were, especially the women! And the dancing was pretty funny too! I spent a great deal of my time there people watching! and then I realized.. omg... I'm am one of them!!!!!! lol!


At some point I left Tony to go find some food and use the little OLD girls room. I always wear a large pair of sunglasses over my regular glasses, (yeah, I'm really cool like that! lol!) As I was walking I was trying to adjust them because they were bothering me and just felt funny! Off I went to the bathroom, the hotdog stand and to get drinks... I ran into someone I knew just a little bit and talked to her for a minute. I kind of felt like the lady at the hotdogs was looking at me oddly, but ignored it.


When I got back to where we were sitting. Tony looked at me and said, "vivian, what happen to your glasses? " I said I dont know why? He said "youre missing a lens!" I took them off and looked at them and laughed hysterically right out loud! OMG! im such a dork! I didnt even realize that one eye was getting sun and one wasnt!


I had him take my picture to send to my daughters because they would get a good laugh! I got a text message back from Jennifer saying "what a GORK you are!" "GORK" because sometimes when I'm talking I mix my words and letters up, and one day called one of my kids a GORK instead of dork. So it has stuck forever...
So.. there you have it, I am a GORK! Oh my.. what people must have wondered! Probably wondering, just as I had about so many people... "wow.. they probably have had enough to drink!" or.. "What ever she was smoking must have been good!"
Well, I'm off for now.. I really have to finish these darn bears by saturday! see yas soon!

vintage vacation swap *wowzers*

Jenny hosted a fun vintage holiday swap! And I was so lucky to be paired up with Roxie Morrow. It must have been meant to be, because after being assigned as partners, Roxie came to visit my blog and saw that I was heading out to Ocean City Maryland for a vacation and would be there the same time she was vacationing there! so we made arrangements to meet up. We knew we were staying close to each other but when I got there and saw that she was just two buildings down from where we were I was amazed! Anyways, we came in on sunday night and she was leaving the next morning, but we did manage to meet on the beach! We got to visit for about an hour.. definitely not long enough! Roxie is fun and sweet and I wish we didnt live so far apart because I think we would have such fun hanging out. She got to meet the girls i went with and they told me to invite her to go with us in two years when we go back for girls week again!


So anyways, Rox and I were partners in jennys swap and I received her package this weekend. Let me just say... OMG! the bottle that she made me is sooooo perfect! I just love it. I love it all. But that bottle.. OMG!

It s just gorgeous. It has tickets on the back that say, OC and MD for ocean city Maryland. A wonderful reminder of a wonderful trip! And look at the sweet little vintage perfume bottle and post card. And the candy! and the little bag she made to hold the candy! Im just tickled pink by it all!

And just look at the front! Even my hubby liked it. I'm going to think of the two girls on the front as Roxie and I!

Roxie, I couldnt be any more thrilled with this bottle and the other great goodies you sent me! Thank you soooo much! And I do hope that we get to meet again someday and that its on the beach somewhere warm and sunny!

So after all that .. I just need to say.. Its a gorgeous day here today, I have the day off and guess where I'm off too? uh huh! you guessed it...
THE BEACH!!!!

the good ole summer time!

Im in the middle of a four day weekend.

though its been so hot, humid and rainy

that Ive had to enjoy it mostly from inside!

so ive puttered and played.

and made this little pink kitten.

Does she look sort of old?

I stained her and beat her up pretty good.

She looks cute sitting with the old bottles,

seashells and queen annes lace!

I might make her a puppy friend next!

Well, not really next..

Next is working on memory bear orders,

that have to get done this week!

I just havent felt like making them..

though now I've put it off til the last minute.

Its true.. I am a procrastinator!!

And, I seriously have to work on them the rest of the week.

I started my day with an eight mile bike ride.

If I ride down my road, east, to the end, its exactly 4 miles.

I had to force myself this morning to go all the way to the end

because it was a little windy, which makes it hard to peddle.

but I perservered!

just kept telling myself how easy the ride back would be.

and it was!

I love riding early in the morning.

This morning was a full hour, from 7:15 to 8:15.

It has been the only time of day cool enough to ride lately!

After my ride, I picked four bouquets of hydrangeas.
They all look so pretty in my kitchen, living room,

bedroom and bathroom !
I love them in this vase full of seashells.

Speaking of seashells! these are on my porch..

lets see.. what else is new...

you already know about my dear grandmother.

They will bring her ashes back to ny for a service

and burial in OCTOBER!!!!! Seems so far away.

Tonight I went to a gospel music festival

at a church in albion.

I love black gospel music so much!

I need to switch churches.. seriously.

I havent been to my own church in soo long.

it would be easy to go somewhere else! They wouldnt even notice!

My precious grammie left this world today.

I dont even know what to say.

She was so special.

she made me look cute up in the dictionary once because

she wasnt sure she wanted me to call her that.

But after reading the discription to her,

she decided that she probably was cute after all!

summer time summer time.. sum sum summer time!

Have i told you lately I love summer? yay, I think I did. I try to take a vacation day everyweek all summer long so that I have long weekends. Which allows me one day a week at the beach! We went this past weekend on sunday and it looks like sunday will be the lucky day again this coming weekend. I always pack up a cooler of ice tea and diet pepsi, popcorn and some sort of lunch, this last weekend we had subs from subway. I take a stack of magazines, some sunscreen and I'm good to go! Sometimes I take a project to work on too.

Then I park myself in front of the lake and just veg out for the day. We usually spend a good 5 hours or more there. I wish I had a beach house, but then it would be so hard to go to work everyday and its already hard enough!

I park myself here...

And enjoy this!

and yes, I spend a good portion of my time swimming in the lake. My daughters love it as much as I do, they're are my beach buddies.

OK.. I'm off to work on a little bear.. then I need to get serious about a bunch of bear orders ! I just realized that I never took pics of the last bears I made.. duh!! I'll try to remember these.
