turkeys, pies and christmas shopping!

turkeys
I see so many bloggers and facebookers counting down the days of november with something to be thankful for everyday.  I just am thankful everyday for everything.

But today I will tell you that I really am thankful that I have a decent job.. and a decent car to get me there, and good health so that I can work and for food to pack for my lunch and for running water to take my shower and for tea to help motivate me...    (though that tea has not kicked in yet this morning! )

I cant believe how fast november is ticking by!  42 days til Christmas!   I have to tell you, I am struggling with it a little bit this year.. ( well if Im honest, I have to say, not a little bit, but a lot!)  So many people to buy for and no idea what to get them.  (oh dont get me wrong.. I love all my people and want to buy for them... Its just overwhelming!)  I keep finding myself in the stores totally overwhelmed by the people, the music and all the Stuff..  I feel like Im just standing there with glassed over eyes.. staring at everything and I feel the need to get the hell out of where ever Im at!   And I know this sounds a little weird, but I almost feel nauseous when Im out shopping surrounded by so much.. sort of like a stimulus overload....  And I cant think straight when Im out there... like I get totally side tracked and have no idea what Im doing.  I see something that catches my eye.. and I cant decide...  thats the worst part.. I just cant decide on what to buy?    I seriously am not quite sure how Im going to complete this task this year.  There used to be 6 of us.. there are now 15 of us.  (not complaining..   I am thrilled that my family has grown and I love every single one of them to freaken pieces!) plus some other extended family members and a couple friends..  And, you know me, I dont just want to buy something for the sake of buying it, I want everything to be special..
And.. in the crafting department.. its almost the same thing.. too many ideas.. and I cant decide on just one or two things.    I think Im going crazyyyy!  yikers!
I'll figure it all out.. but i also have to admit Im getting tired of writing and rewriting my lists!
OH my my my!
so.. now that Ive ranted a little bit, I guess I'll go take my shower and pack my lunch... and get going and I will try to concentrate on my job...  key words here..
"try to " ! LOL!
OK.. I must get moving..
have a delightful day everyone!!

I agree! I too have much to be thankful for! Last year I did almost all my shopping online....I am not a crowd lover and it often seems that people who are shopping are just a little too cranky for me...sort of missing the enjoyment of giving. Have a great day!

You are very blessed indeed. Such beautiful grands. I'm not a store shopper either at Christmas. I hate crowds. Online shopping pretty much took care of all my shopping last year. Have a wonderful Wednesday. I can't wait for the weekend. More Christmas crafting awaits. I think the Christmas decorating will start in my dollhouse too. Hugs.

I know that overwhelming feeling, Vivian! And the second guessing of gifts. If I see something when I am out {not specifically Christmas shopping} I get it. I also have been shopping online the past several years. The deals can be just as good and it's a plus if there is free shipping offered.

I know what you mean. I haven't even made any lists because I'm so stressed out about what to buy, I'm trying not to think about it until after Thanksgiving. Hopefully I'll get some ideas then. Maybe you will too.

Oh Viv,
Maybe it's time to just be together and not buy gifts for the adults. Just the sweet children! Have a nice meal, just be together and watch the kids opens their gifts. It's not about the gifts, it's about celebrating Jesus' birthday and what He does every moment for us! Sorry, didn't mean to "preach".
Warmly,
deb

Oh- I hear you, Viv. I am to the point where I refuse to shop in the malls anymore. It is just too much- noise, crowds, etc. I do a lot of my shopping online and we have cut way back in what we do anymore.

Hope you had a great day- I finally got my internet back up and running. xo Diana

The stimulation overload is real! So many choices, so many things to do, it makes me anxious too!
It used to be so much easier to shop for occasions because people actually wanted and needed things. In this day and age of instant gratification, we buy the things we want/need right away and not much is "special" anymore.
Take a deep breath and try not to stress! :)

Your turkeys are so cute!

Viv, I do the my grands Christmas stockings and that's it! And I buy stuff for the stockings all year long saving the Christmas candies for last. As much as I love receiving gifts, there's just not enough money for me to buy birthday and Christmas gifts for all my friends and everyone in our family, too. It's less stress this way and I can just focus on decorating and baking if I feel like it.

I used to feel overwhelmed when I went in the craft stores but now that I can go in on a weekly basis with coupon in hand- it's a lot easier! ♥
