I'm so sorry for your pain. I had to put down 3 of my pets, one right after the other(well each w/ a year or so in between). I just wanted them to go naturally. It's soooo hard to be the decider.

I'm sorry.

Do you know the children's book 'I'll Always Love you, Alfie?' A young boy loses his dog. Everyone else was so upset, but when the time came, he knew that Alfie knew that he loved him- because he told him so every day, and he carried him everyday, and he loved him everyday.
God Bless- Lydia

Oh the poor little guy. My heart is breaking for you too. Maybe he is ready to go to the Rainbow Bridge. He will always be watching you. I swear I can feel Buster hop on the bed and lay down by my legs still. So I know he is with me.

awwww hun! I am heart broken for you... I know the hard feeling of knowing when it's time! It's hard, but he'll ALWAYS be with you in spirit! He knows you love him and he loves you too! You've made him so happy and gave him a loving home, warm hugs, lots of snuggles and kisses!

I read this, then had to go away and come back after I fell apart. Like the others who have commented, I so understand. My kitty-people were old when they crossed over, but that didn't make it a BIT easier to let go. And you are allowed to grieve all you need to. I am grieving WITH you, Viv. Love to you AND beautiful Jasper.

Aww, Viv, I'm sorry.. it's so hard to let go of pets, especially when they're failing. They're family members! My heart hurts for you -- deciding to put my little dog to rest a couple springs ago was one of the hardest things I've ever done, so I know what you're going thru.
Bunches of hugs,
Brenda

I'm so sorry, Viv. I hate that our little fur babies get old. Jasper is still a beauty.

Oh Sweet Viv...I had to make that decision with one of my horses a few years ago and it was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. I know in my heart it was the right choice though.

I know how you feel. My 19 year old kitty is going to the vet today. She isn't eating much, and when she does, she can't keep it down, she is so darn skinny!! I am scared to hear what the dr. says. You are in my thoughts!! Valarie

It is so hard to let go of a beloved pet. I have a kitty going downhill fast as well (16 years old). That decision is not easy. If they don't go on their own sometimes it is kinder to end their suffering but not easy. We have lost two dogs and three cats in the last 10 years and both dogs had to be put down. One was an absolute necessity as she was gravely ill but the other was the hardest choice we ever made. He might have hung on a few more months but at what price to him? I feel for you. You will make your choice out of love, Pam

It is so hard to do whats right by them rather than what makes us feel secure. (BIG sigh & F bomb inserted here). When my beloved dog was diagnosed with a brain tumor, I was crushed. I started him on anticonvulsants but it wasn't long before most of his time was consumed by seizures. He was miserable. Letting go was horrid. My son had just moved out for college and my divorce was finalized. I had lost my son, husband and home and now, the last piece of my previous life, my dog. I had him put down and then took him to be cremated . My heart and prayers go out to you.

we had adopted our sadie from the pound...white ball of fluff...toward the end she lost weight and refused to eat...and then couldn't "hold' herself anymore...and it got to be that we could just see the misery in her eyes...it was like she had this look...and we held her when it was time...

...feeling your pain and sending my love...

Dear Vivian~
I know I commented on here before but it's not here so I am doing it again.

I am so sorry for your loss of Jasper. I do know how painful it is to lose a pet that you loved so very much. You must remember though how happy you made Jasper..know what a perfect happy life he had because you loved him so much...and he loved you. What more could a cat ask for?? You gave him everthing he needed and much, much more.
Hugs~~~Tania
