FREAKEN AMAZING!

Medical technology never ceases to amaze me. Todays ultrasounds are much different then the ones I had for my kids. This is a picture of my little grandbuddy and he wont even be born for another 8 weeks or so. I'm really getting excited now. Isnt he freaken adorable! HE looks like his momma and his poppa!
Computer technology amazes me too.. Just the fact that my daughter can send me a picture on my phone, and i can email it to myself, then I can upload it onto my blog and then essentially anyone in the whole world can see it. and it can all happen in just a few seconds.
And even more amazing then the technology's themselves is the genius minds behind it all. I cant even begin to imagine being that intelligent!

I caught a minute of something on tv the other night about how they make bluejeans and the freaken gigantic robotic machines that do alot of the work, were crazy amazing! All I could think was, I can imagine coming up with the idea, but to know how to make something like that and them get it to work are beyond me.

I'm praying that my new grandbuddy will be that smart!!

50 things about me and a give away!

OK, so its over a week since my 50th birthday and 500th post and I had thought I should do something in honor of those two big occasions. so in honor of my 50th birthday, I thought I'd post 50 things about me.. (well I'm going to try anyways.. we'll see how far I get!)

1) I am 50 years old! born on oct 2 1960
2) I am the oldest of 4 kids
3) I hated school from kindergarten straight through!
4) I was a naughty teenager!
5) I barely attended 9th grade and failed.
6) moved to another school to repeat 9th and somehow passed with out doing any real work or barely attending!
7) I ran away and quit school when I turned 16. ( returned home after a couple weeks).
8) I took my GED when I was 17 and passed with out taking the classes.
9) met my husband when I was 16
10) we did a lot of partying!
11) moved out of my fathers house when I was 18 and tony and I rented a house together.
12) Was 21 when we got married on 4/4/81
13) had my first baby on 9/20/81 (dont be doing the math there girls!)
14) I worked in several factorys.. I liked factory work. (easier then what I do now!)
15) in early 1985 I went to a baby shower for a cousin, watching her open her gifts I was bit by the "I want another baby bug"
16) nine months later on 12/6/85 we had baby number 2.. Bethany Marie
17) Prior to having he baby, in oct of 85 we moved out of the city and bought our house in the country.
18) had baby number 3 on 4/21/87 Tony Jr
19) had baby number 4 on 11/10/88 Robert Biagio (named after my father in law who passed away while I was pregnant.
20) I stayed home for a bunch of years raising the kids.
21) I worked at a quilt and gift shop for a while.
22) I pretty much spent my whole paycheck there everyweek!
23) In 1994 I decided to go to college for human services.
24) after receiving my associates in human services I decided to go on to get my BAS in Social work.
25) I graduated from college the same year that my daughter Jennifer graduated from HS!
26) I got hired at our local social services pretty much right away and worked with pregnant and parenting teenagers.
27) worked there a year and then got bumped out of my position.
28) left the county and went to work at a drug treatment center with adolescents for a few years.
29) went back to the county to work in the child protection unit.
30) took another postion with the county as a preventive school caseworker
31) 6 months later took the position I have now as youth care coodinator, which deals with the juvenile delinguent and PINs teenage boys who the judge places in foster care.
32) used to love my job, presently I'm a little disenchanted with it.. but I'll get over it.
33) hmmm.. lets see.. I've always believed in God, and am a Christian.. (though not a very good example of one!) used to attend church every sunday, though now I never go. though my faith is still strong and I still pray all the time.. I just cant seem to get myself to go to church. (did I mention that my church is right across the street.... )
34) (16 more things??? ) lets see.. I've been married 29 years... my husband is an "old" biker boy. He still has really long hair which he pretty much keeps in a pony tail and tucked in his shirt.. Its a little thin these days! LOL! He also has a big scraggly old beard!
35) I figure with 4 kids that Ive thrown at least 45 birthday partys, and 4 HS graduation partys and most recently a huge baby shower!
36) my kids are 29, 24, 23, and 21... they are why I have white hair!! (jk)
37) I will become a grandmother for the first time during the first week or so of Dec this year!
38) I am a happy person.. I wake up happy to wake up!
39) I'm mostly a morning person, but I would like to never need to sleep, I want to stay up late playing and get up ready to play some more!
40) You already know this, but I LOVe to create things!
41) I love animals and have 2 siamese kitties and a recently aquired african grey parrot.
42) I lost 55 pounds this year!!!
43) I Like to say that I was born a real princess and must have been switched to the wrong family at birth.. which means that someone out there is living my other life!
44) my husband tells me I am a real princess.... (is he kidding me?)
45) I'm addicted to the computer.. blogging.. flickrs..
46) I love this blogging comunity! There are so many interesting and talented people out here that I would never know otherwise!
47) I've been able to meet in person 10 of my blogger and flickr pals! What an absolute treat!
48) I'm a bit obsessed with holiday creating and decorating..
49) I'm also a magazine junkie.. (really need to get this under control!)
50) I think I'm going shopping today.. new jeans and a trip to Joanns (birthday gift cards!) and buffalo stamps and maybe a couple new magazines!! (I see lots of christmas ones are out.)
thats it girls.. I did it 50 things about me!

mr postman has been busy here lately!

my awesome friend Kelly (kelbug on flickr) and I did a halloween swap. Weve been swapping every holiday for just over a year now. I hope we continue for another year! I was sooo excited to find the bride of frankenstien in my package!!! isnt she lovely?Kelly came from OHio to my aunts cottage with me last month and she is so creative! She knew I was liking her bride of frankenstien too.. though, it wouldnt have mattered what she made for me, because I LOVE every thing she does! thank you sooso much Kelly!!


I love it all.. these were in my package from kelly too... That little pumpkin guy will become a little necklace to wear soon for halloween!

the post man (or lady in my case) has been dropping packages off right and left this week! I also recieved a package from Elizabeth of creative breathing this week. I know you know who Elizabeth is.. I ADORE her. I had the most awesome pleasure of meeting Elizabeth too. We met last year in ohio during the country living fair. I love you E! thank you for the sweet little skier viv doll!

We did a collaborative banner and it is perfectly awesome!!! OMG its wonderful.. at least all of it before mine.. (I dont care for mine after seeing all the rest... ) what a wonderful piece of art!All you girls that participated here rock!

My sweet friend Sandy Camarda sent me a birthday package this week too. look at all the goodies! I was so excited to see the paper doll theatre doll that Sandy made for me!


Dont ya just love her !! Thank you again dear Sandy! I love her and she is quite happy here in my craft room! Sandy is another blogger that I've had the great pleasure of meeting on several occasions now!

and from Nataleas adorable daughter Scarlet.. how cute is this? notice the two dollars she had her mom dig out of her piggy bank because she just knew how excited I would be to recieve it! lol ! Scarlets a doll, thank you sweet little fairy princess! (scarlet and I played fairy princess on the beach one day.. much to my childrens dismay, I think they were embarrassed by my running around in my bathing suit pretending to be afairy while my boobs bounced up and down! ! I got the "mom people are looking at you!" lol!

another birthday package recieved from my dear friend Cindy of thimbleprims! I'm dying to get a chance to make some of the birdies in the book she sent me!Cindy your a precious friend! thank you so much for all the goodies! Ive not had the pleasure of meeting Cindy in person yet, but We have talked on the phone a few times.. She is a doll and I look forward to meeting her sometime!

well that about does it for now.. I really only have 1/2 an hour left to get ready for work now.

the monster mash!

I found the cutest fabric that inspired these little monsters! I had to buy it and then a sweet friend at work offered to make a little quilt for my little grandbuddys shower. she made the quilt

and I made monsters to go with it!

I had fun making them, though I was short on time, it was a last minute thing! IN fact.... I bought the fabric for the bear and the monster blanket on tuesday after work, came home stayed up til after midnight working on the bear, then got up at 4:30 to finish it!

Then at work that day I was talking about the fabric and my friend said she thought she could make a little rag quilt and being in back to me by friday. but guess what??? she had it sitting on my desk the next morning, totally finished!!!!! Adorable! So I got started on the monsters and had them finished and turned into a mobile by sat morning! Now I want to get it back from Bethany, because I decided its not really finished, I want to add some little felted balls or something to it.

I love the little monsters though.. they are so cute!

wow!! what a weekend! two posts in one.. and lots of pictures!

Saturday was Bethanys baby shower. We had a great time. We did a circus theme, which was fun to do. Decorating was a lot of fun, we had so many cute ideas! I took a ton of pictures but its so hard to decide which ones to post here! And I didnt even post all of them on flickr.


We had lots of food. I served beef on wic, salt potatos, rosa marina salad and the standard veggie trays, crackers and cheese, etc! I also bought popcorn containers at the dollar store and put them on the tables full of popcorn for snacking to fit with the circus theme and we rolled down brown lunch bags and filled then with peanuts in shells. Anyways, everything looked great and I think everyone had a good time.
I know bethany did!

I was a little worried that people were getting tired and wanting to leave, with so many gifts to open, it did take a little bit of time. Though I think the shower really only lasted about 3 hours, so thats not too bad right?


My mom was still up from last weekend (grammies funeral) so I was so happy that she could come, and Tonys mom was here, as they are unable to go back to florida, because her husband was just diagnosed with esophagial cancer. sad, I know, but I was so glad she could be here for the shower. In the picture above, is my mom in the gray sweater and tonys mom in the flowery jacket.

I made Bethany (well the baby really) a really sweet teddy bear and a monster mobile! wait til you see them. they are so cute.. I'll show you in my next post. I probably already have too many pictures here!



I gotta say that Torrys a trouper! I really put him on the spot in front of the 70 or so guests we had! I had special gifties just for him. One gift was a diaper changing kit, complete with rubber gloves, a clothespin for his nose, antiseptic hand lotion, air freshener.. and somethings else.. I cant remember what it was!
Then I gave him a gift for some Quiet time, a pair of pj's, the new ironman 2 movie (he has been wanting that) cookies and earplugs! I told him he could use them now if he needs too! lol! then the last bag was toys and munchies and mcdonalds gift cards for when she is at the hospital. It was fun to buy goodies for him. geesh, the mom and baby get everything.. dads deserve a little something special too!

So besides being Bethanys shower yesterday, it was also my 50th birthday, which we celebrated today. My kids planned a little dinner party for me at red robin, which is where I had been telling them I wanted to eat for my bday! LOVE their burgers and havent been there since last summer, not a diet friendly place!



It was sort of a surprise. They wouldnt tell me where we were going, though I had a pretty good idea it would be there, but I didnt have any idea that their would be others there besides us! My two best friends and their families were there and my mom and my aunt!


Jennifer brought the crown that she made for me a couple years ago and they made me wear it! And then Robert wore it, and so did torry!




silly boys!


I ate just what ive been thinking about having for weeks! The bacon blu burger. Its huge! I could not finish it though.. I gave the rest to Torry to take home. It was so good though! Then of course the waitresses brought me dessert and sang to me.. I couldnt eat all of that either.. bethany finished that for me!



Everyone had a good time, my son and one of my girlfriends arm wrestled! that was very interesting.. especially when I thought she was going to win for a minute!



Tony and John got filled up and kicked back! it was funny to see them both sitting there like twins! One of johns kids asked if they had on matching undies too. cute.



So anyways, It was a busy and fun weekend. too much to tell about and not enough time to tell it all anyways. but so far 50's not so bad. doesnt really feel any different. Its just a number right? I dont know, Im still struggling a little with it.. turning 50 and becoming a grandmother in the same year.. ...

eiy yie yie! I dont want to be old! lol! and I have a belly ache! Ive been eating junk alllll weekend!

tomorrow its back on track for me!
