Im a little chatter box today! lol

antiquing
Ive had a very nice weekend.  Saturday I went to the beach by myself for a few hours and soaked up some wind and sun and visited with a seagull that shared my lunch and pretty much never left my side.. (good food makes good friends! lol)  he even took a chip right out of my fingers!
Then I went and saw Jen and friends in Joseph and the technicolor dreamcoat for the second time.  I had seen it on thursday night as well.  I loved it and had a good time and laughed a lot.  Its a great show.. I had never seen it before and didnt know that it would be so funny!
Then yesterday, Jen and I had been wanting to get up to these antique/co-op barns.  So we headed out for a little treasure hunting.
teahouse
It was a gorgeous day (as its been all weekend)  you really couldnt ask for more comfortable weather.  We decided since we are both trying to lose weight that we would pop into this cute little teahouse to get a little sandwhich and a cup of tea.
salad
Well, things didnt quite work out that way.  we were very quickly enticed by the waitresses description of their special teas and three tiered lunch and salad!   we just couldnt seem to pass it up...   ha! and then Jen saw the prices... YIKES!  At that point though I just said, oh what the heck..  my treat.. lets just enjoy it.  I ended up spending 61.00 on our lunch yesterday!  LOL!  but it was so worth it.  It was the nicest little place and the food was amazingly delicious;  two kinds of scones, 5 kinds of deserts, 4 different sandwhiches, cucumber, white tuna, chicken salad and egg salad with fresh dill.  and the salad.. sooo good!  and the teas!!  soo good!
lunch

We couldnt finish it all there so they brought us boxes and we went on our way to the antique barns which were right next door.  I dont know how long we were in there, but when we came out I checked on our left overs and realized they were getting a little warm and would never be good by the time we got home so I declared that we should picnic in the car and finish everything up! LOL! and we did!  wasnt gonna waste a bit of those 60.00 sandwhiches!    Really, Im not complaining about the cost, because it was a wonderful treat and it was so good and even just the atmosphere was so charming and sweet, it was worth every penny.
tiny treasures
The barns were filled to the brim with awesome stuff..   I kept saying "geesh if we hadnt spent so much on lunch I could buy that! lol.  But I did pick up a couple little treasures.  I got this cute little flamingo, which jennifer couldnt understand why I would want it.  but you guys understand dontcha!  isnt he cute?  she said "it says Myrtle Beach on it."  and I said.. "so, I went there once!"lol!  anyways.. isnt he cute?!
tiny new flamingo
Other the the flamingo, the only other thing I bought was this jar of old cupcake toppers and candle holders.. sweet little stuffies!  and a fun time besides.
After the barns and lunch we went to the mall and I tried on a few dresses for Tony and Vanessas wedding.  LOL!  ok.. girls.. I'm a pretty simple girl.  I am not in any way shape or form cut out for formal wear!  LOL!
I did find a couple things I like.. but didnt buy anything yet.  I'll keep looking.  I am not going to be wearing one of those mother of the bride or groom dresses with sequins and sparkles... just not me. but I will find something pretty I'm sure.  and when I do, I'll show you!
cupcake toppers
Oh lets see, in other news.. I finished these two bear orders yesterday morning.  now I can concentrate on other more fun things!  I love how the first bear turned out.  he really is sweet.

So, for today, I'm off of work again, another vaca day.  I have a friend coming over later to help me in the garden.. (for I know not what to do out there...) and, Tiffany and Marlaina are coming over to hang out too.

So thats if for now girlie pies...
have a delightful summery day!

Your lunch looks absolutely amazing and worth every single penny. Sounds like a wonderful weekend. I can't wait to see the dress you end up with for the wedding. Fingers crossed for a very fast work week. My father in law arrives today for the week. Not sure if he's going slow Chris down with that construction project. I'm getting impatient (smile). Happy Monday!

Your lunch reminds me of when we went on vacation and stopped at a little tea shop for lunch. The servings were so small and expensive, it was down right funny! Glad you guys had a good time, though.

I had to smile about the "dress" as I'll probably be "one of those" who has a fancy dress for my daughters wedding! LOL! However, I hope to find one at a consignment shop!(I'm cheap!)

Sounds like you had a great day!

We have a nice tea room here in Tulsa that I love to go to. The food is delicious! I made the mistake of taking my husband there once and now he teases me about wanting to eat with all the little old ladies. I guess he just can't appreciate a nice little sandwich and cup of tea! ;)

If you want to see some high prices you come visit me up here in Alaska. Our little tea shop just closed due to a dispute with her landlady from hell. Teas there were very expensive and did not offer nearly has much as you girls had! I bet you really had fun it looks delicious.
