so happy tomorrows friday.. Im not kidding when I say work has been a little crazy.. and Im really not kidding when I say I work with some people that are probably truly infreakensane! good grief.. there are some freaken nut cases in this county I live in! Im always so happy to come home every day to my crumbling old house where I can create cute things and enjoy my happy little surroundings.. though I have to admit that my house is extremely messy right now.. I would be horrified if someone came here!
So I finished this bear tonight actually, she just needed her nose added. which I thought might look better in pink then in black. I hope the person getting her likes her. she was a tiny bit of a challenge, but I was glad to make one a little different. Ive done a few wedding dress bears in the past.. I'm always am a nervous wreck when i start cutting someones wedding gown apart! This dress was worn by someone in the 70's and her daughter is about to
get married, so she had the bear made to give to her daughter at her
bridal shower. I thought this was just a fabulous idea!
so weekend plans? cleaning my house, doing my patriotic decorating and going out for dinner with my whole family to celebrate fathers day on Sunday. Also hoping for some beach time...(if the weather cooperates) Oh, and saturday morning a trip to Joanns to get supplies for next weekend... a girls crafty weekend at my aunts cottage. Cant wait. I need to make some lists of what projects and supplies.. and what foods and goodies!
just need to get through one more day at work... Geesh.. I hope we have better weather.. Im thinking we might need to be building an ark! I hope things get on track soon... Im starting to worry about what this summer is going to be like.
Okeedokie..
off I go! see yas soon!

People are NUTS everywhere...Sometimes I just have to shake my head.
I do hope you'll post a million pics of your craft weekend! Sounds like it will be so much fun and I wish I could be there just hanging out with you all.
The wedding dress bear came out so adorable! What a great gift idea.
Wishing you a sunshine filled weekend. Your wedding bear is adorable, Viv. I can't wait to hear all about your crafting weekend. We will be leaving on our 2 week roadtrip when you have your gathering, I'll be sneaking peeks from motels when I can. I have one more week of work before vacation. Yippee!
I love visiting here! What a lovely idea to make a bear wearing a piece of a vintage wedding gown! I know the young lady will absolutely love it...I would! My Grandma Patta made me a china head doll wearing a dress identical to mine...even down to a miniature version of the lace...it was amazing. I gave it to my eldest daughter, but I haven't seen it among her possessions (in her many moves) so I don't know if she still has it...I'm too afraid of the answer if I ask. She is sentimental in some ways...but not about the same things I care about. That's life!
What a sweet sentiment giving your daughter a bear made from you wedding dress......that's a smart mom! She's even smarter getting you to make it....it's gorgeous pretty lady! I hope your weekend is fantabulous!!!! I've got to clean tomorrow and then I have my paperdoll class on Saturday.....wish me luck.
Hugs,
Meri
Such a great idea to have a bear made out of a wedding dress! I'm sure the bride will love this gift! Have a great weekend!
The daughter is going to love, love, love that bear. I love her and her pink nose. Hope you have a great weekend and can get your house in order so your feel better about it. I can only take so much before I have to clean up before I do one more thing- xo Diana
That bear is adorable, Vivian! I love it and what a wonderful gift from the Mom to the bride. I hope your weather shapes up. We had some rain yesterday and the day started out humid, but by noon it was sunny, humidity gone and so beautiful out.
I have to get moving on getting my craft/sewing room into shape. The Where Bloggers Create linky party is coming up in about a month and I probably need about that long to get it in viewable shape for pictures!
Good Morning Viv! I think the weather will be nice tomorrow...hoping! I took off Wednesday to go to the beach just because I felt I HAD to with all this rain. And I'm glad I did! Have fun at your aunt's cottage! We'll be leaving for Disney! Happy Friday, xoxo nat

Very cute bear and a great way to hold on and share a wedding dress! Work can be crazy - my craziness is some of the people I work with(!) so I hope today is better.
I hope you get some beach time in - I am looking forward to it too.

Your bear is just precious. What a neat keepsake. I love to see what you make. Bears just look very challenging. I have a friend that made bears out of old fur coats! They sure were soft. Have a wonderful weekend!
