Dont you miss the Mary Englebriet Home Companion Magazines?  I still have about 10 years worth of them.  I could never part with them.  And normally would never tear a page out, but I did remove this page...
sister seashells pic
Cut it out and mounted it on scrapbook paper, framed it and glued some shells and a little fuzzy flamingo friend on and Ta Dah!  I think its cute.  Its sitting on my fireplace mantle.

Had a great visit with my mother, aunt and sister yesterday as well as with Tiffany, Marlaina and Torry.

My sister was heading back to missouri this morning with her son and grandkids, and my mother and aunt are leaving on thursday.  I was hoping that I would maybe get to the city to see them once more before they go,  but the more that I think about it, Im not sure that will happen.

Love what you've done with the Home Companion picture. I had all the issues but have recently been giving them to a friend in England, a few at a time. Your beach decorating is fun and I'm especially fond of that shelf in the last post with the little characters and the milk bottle.

It's good to see everyone enjoying themselves and the summer, best time to have a family gathering. The "pies" are adorable!

I think you're right about bloggers being away for a summer treat. I'm sure we'll read about it later.

Have a wonderful day!

I also have all my Home Companion issues too. Its my go-to magazine a zillion years later. Your pictures are wonderful. I've got to take pictures of my beach mantle in the living room. You always have the best ideas for decorating. It's turned cold in MI. Bonfires in the evening and our little pool is FREEZING. It almost feels like fall (scary).

Another Home Companion magazine collector here! They are timeless...never go out of style. I love the assemblage you've made with the beach girls and flamingo. Your brain works in a wonderful way!
I think it's been quiet in Blogland, too. Since Elizabeth hasn't been creating, I miss her inspiration. I also think everyone has been busy with just having fun and being with their families more.
I'm glad you're still cranking out lovely projects...it's always fun to visit here Viv!
Are you having cooler weather...I'm loving it.

I hope the weather holds out here in Ohio for you for your visit, Vivian! We've been having some beautiful weather lately. I loved the ME magazine, too. I had thought I read on her blog that there was some talk on bringing it back, but since that was like a year ago, I guess that's all it was ~ talk.

It's funny Viv I hauled my ME magazines up to Alaska from CA. I have them stashed in the basement and have no idea what to do with them. If you figure out anything let me know. Thanks for the blog visits I do appreciate your interest. Nan

What a darling idea to frame the Home Companion beach photo - the sea shells on the frame are a great touch. Loved seeing your family photos, too. When you live far away from loved ones it makes you appreciate them even more, doesn't it? -- Jan

It is so nice to see you family pictures. Those grand babies are so adorable!! Very happy you could get together and enjoy each other. It seems hard for families to get together now a days. Love the little framed ME. You made it look so cute!!
As far as blog land being quite, I think so a bit, too. People are busy with summer I guess. Or a few of my blogging buddies have been in need of a break. I myself am just trying to get back into it after a very hectic year so far. Blog buddies are the best, and I am happy to have more time to visit than before.
Blessings,
Susie
