Winter whine!

oy vey....  I know I'm not the only one tired of this stuff..  I suppose I probably feel this way every year about this time...   Though this winter seems worse then last year.. more snow and definitely way colder.    Tony had to go up and knock the icicles down around the house and shovel snow off the roof.  Our front porch has needed to be torn off and rebuilt for a couple years, but I'm thinking this will probably have to be the year it finally gets done.  It isn't handling the winters well anymore.
(neither am I ! lol!)
I know spring will come.  the count down is only 30 days.. but we all know in my corner of the world that it'll be April before she really arrives.  That's ok.. I can deal with that at least I know we're getting closer.  I'm not a big fan of the first few weeks of spring either if I'm honest.  I dread when all this snow melts and every thing is smelly and muddy.  but gotta get through that to get to the good stuff!    warm sunny days...  windows and doors open.... flowers... green leafy trees.....beach days.... bike riding..
I keep saying that Ive lived through 53 winters, I should be used to them by now!!  lol!!  oh I suppose I am used to them.  I just don't like them as much.  I'm starting to understand why so many older people go south in the winter.
OK.. that's my winter whine...   I promise tomorrow I'll be back with something much more upbeat.   for now I'm off to have a repeat of yesterdays breakfast...
this is yesterdays picture.. but it deserves a repeat today. It did make me happy yesterday, it was like tasting sunshine!  I hope today's tastes as good!   I'm trying to lose one million pounds ... so I'll be eating a lot of grapefruit!  LOL!
have a great day bloggy pies!
Stay warm if your someplace cold
and cool if you're someplace hot!  lol!

Wishing you a happy warm day!! We are in the negatives again this morning but it's Chinese New Year so we are planning a few celebrations after school. Hugs!!!

I know the feeling Viv! I'm a WInter lover but the weather this year even has me longing for warmth. I'm not a hot Summer gal as the heat bothers me but I do love the warmth of a nice Spring Day! Can't wait till my chickens and bunnies can lay in the warm sun in the hay inside their coop and walk among the flowers with me!

Oh girl, I won't complain about my 16 degrees! At least we don't have snow and ice! YUM to the grapefruit, it made my mouth water:) Have a blessed day, stay safe and warm! HUGS!

You know we always get the last snow in April. Drives me nuts! When I was just a wee lass, back in 1968, I was making my First Holy Communion on May 5th. There is a photo of my on the church steps n my short sleeved chiffon white dress and veil with snow falling down all around me ! Good Lord !!!

You have had two very bad winters in a row. We had a cold, snowy one last year but not much happening now. We will pay with drought, ruined fruit crops, fires, and outrageous grocery costs. It all comes out in the wash, doesn't it? Be blessed!

I'm right there with you, Vivian! It is in the negative numbers here with the wind chill. I'm about done.

I need to eat the grapefruit I bought. I should have that tomorrow morning. Have you tried the My Fitness Pal app? I just downloaded it this afternoon after a woman at work told me about it. It has a ridiculous number of calories given for me to lose 10 pounds (1,096 a day). Meanwhile, I average about 1600! We'll see. I may not keep that app for long.

I'm with you, Viv. I am tired of winter and have about a dozen more years of it than you have. I am ready to head south for the winters-I just can't take the cold anymore.

We do not get Spring until well into April either and I am not a fan of early Spring with all the mud and muck. Usually we are starting to leaf out by early May here. xo Diana

Those icicles are incredible. I am so finished with winter ! On Sunday it was so cold our pipes froze! Also counting down the days to spring!

Ok - you are welcome to come stay with me for the winter! I must say, I just cannot believe the icicles - and although it did snow an inch up here at my mountain home, Palm Springs is pretty nice right now! Losing weight - it's been a life-long battle - and just not gaining more makes me happy! We started walking every day after school and I'm doing low-carb, because it's easy and I feel good on it, but jeepers - I feel like it's a losing battle!

Misery loves company...and I am miserable, too. I hear you and know what you are going through! But that photos of the icicles was brilliant and beautiful! And the grapefruit just warmed by heart! Hang in there!

Oh my gosh, Viv. That is why I don't live in Connecticut anymore. And even Connecticut doesn't have it nearly as bad as upstate NY. The pictures look beautiful but I know what a pain it all is.

We've been having some cold and a couple days of snow here in Oklahoma and I'm over it! I'm so ready for spring.
