easter train!

Good sunday morning to you all! YEs!! I feel better!! thank God!! That flu bug kicked my butt! still a little stuffy, but I can deal with that!!

I really didnt hear back from many of my doll maker girls. I hope everyone is finishing and mailing out their dolls. I'll wait til the end of the week to post the pictures that I have so far. please email me pics if you havent yet!

Finished my bunny train!

Went out to play cards with our closest friends last night. we have two families that we are very close with and spend a lot of time with. We had a good time, though I didnt really want to go at first and I dont think Tony did either. both of us too lazy and tired! Glad we went though!

Yesterday morning I went to Joanns etc. with my friend Brenda. This Joanns thing has become a habit! Every weekend I make a trip to Joanns for some little thing.. like a certain color ribbon or a little piece of fabric.. And then I always ended up picking up all sorts of stuff and spending between 30.00 an 60.00.. Not a big deal if it wasnt every single week end!! and Joanns is an hour away.. I live in the sticks!!! Oh, I'm not really complaining. I love going. I'm grateful that Joanns exists! What would I ever do with out it!!?? Yesterday I bought a little easter tree for my new bunny, because he needed something taller then him beside him! Oh, and I bought some winnie to pooh fabric to make ribbons for two bear orders that I have.

A lady called me and told me she had gotten my name from someone and wanted me to make memory bears for her. She had lost her daughter 6 years ago. So she came out to my house and brought a sweat shirt that was her daughters. I talked to her for quite a while and she told me that her daughter was murdered by her boyfriend (the daughters), who then turned the gun on himself and killed himself. She cried while she told me and said that she has never gone through her belongings and that this is a huge step for her. I felt so bad for this lady. She told me that she was so comfortable at my home talking to me and said that she doesnt normally talk about it but struggles with it every day! So Wow, that is my next bear order. I bought some picture frame charms to put on these bears, so that she can put her daughters picture in them. What a horrible thing ! so unbelieveably sad.. I hope the bears will be a good thing for her and will help her to take some steps towards moving forward. I plan on starting the bears today and will post pics when they're done!

Well for now.. I must go do something constructive.. clean house and make bears!

The bunny train is adorable!
What a sad story about your new client. It's so hard to hear, but I think sometimes as artists we truly do help heal others pain a little. I painted a mural for a woman who had lost her little girl and she would just talk and talk about her while I painted for hours. So much love went into that painting, sometimes I felt like my hand was being guided. When I was finished, 80 hrs later, she had said that it was so hard for her to talk to her family and friends and somehow easier to let it all out with me. It felt good to do that. I hope you help her heal some pain. Your work is so lovely, I'm sure it will bring her comfort.

I am glad you are feeling better. I still have the cruds but I am feeling much better today. Your Bunny train is adorable! What did you make it with? How did you do the wheels? You are making me want to pull out my teddy bear supplies and see if I remember how to make a stuffed Teddy bear. I took one class years ago.

it will bring a sense of peace to her...i know when my sister passed away...(only two months after my brother) we used her jacket that she loved to make a wall quilt...with her picture on...big hugz....p.s. the stale peeps are wonderful in hot cocoa too...no matter the color...lol...although those LAVENDER ones are quite tastier...

I'm glad to hear you're better of your flu! No fun beeing sick! :-) The train is so adorable, and I love that you bought a tree for your easter bunny! He is soooo cute! You did'nt make him yourself?

So sad to hear that awful story about the murdered girl, but also glad because you can create a loving memory for er mother. I know you'll pour all your love in to that!

What a sweet bunny train! Whenever I go to the States I have to hit Joann's as well. BTW, I'm an hour away from Niagara as well but I'm in Toronto. Where are you from? We could have a get-together with Gina (Lilly's of Londonish) cause she's close as well! P.S I'm sure your bears will bring some much needed joy to your friend! Sandy:)

Hi Viv, I love that bunny train. I am sure that the memory bear will be of comfort for that poor lady. I have made a memory bear for a customer in memory of her grandfather and she just loves the bear and finds him such a comfort and a special way to remember.
Hugs, Catherine x

i'm glad that you are creating a memory bear for her; especially using her t-shirt. so painful and sad.
