uh oh!

Oh dear! ok.. I've done really really well the last week.. trying to make healthy eating choices and eating small portions and smart snacks, trying to keep calories and fats to a limit.. and I tell you.. I'm amazed at myself! It hasnt even been that hard really I do have to admit that I ate two pieces of pizza the other night but only after eating carefully all day and then having No snack that night. Even when I made those marvelous muffins the other day, I ate only two, the very smallest ones.. one for breakfast and one later for a snack.. I have only had unsweetened ice tea and water and no pop! dont even want any.. but right now I have the strongest urge ever to have a banana split for dinner! Now I know this is a very bad idea.... but geez doesnt it sound so good! Im thinking that maybe I should use a banana split as a reward for the first 10 pounds I lose! oh gosh.. can I wait that long???
perhaps I should take a trip to the store and buy some fudgicles, eat a light dinner and have fudgie later!!
hmmmmmmm.........
I want a banana split! but I'm going to be a good girl and not give in! but really how bad do you think that banana split really is.. its got fruit! ha! I really do wonder though how many calories and how much fat is in one..
I think I better go plan something for dinner.

I used to satisfy the urge with low fat frozen yogurt and banana. I would eat a bite of banana then a bite of frozen yogurt. When the banana was finished I put the rest of the frozen yogurt away. Not nearly as many calories as a banana split but a satisfying snack.

I'm a cake person myself. Got the urge and went to Kroger and got one piece of carrot cake and that satisfied me completely. Why don't you "felt" a banana split? That way it will always be within reach. Have a great day. :) Susan

Oooooo!!! I HATE ice cream so 'nana splits don't tempt me, but I DEFINITELY relate to cravings! I've dropped 28 pounds recently (only have about 4 TIMES that many more to lose - LOL!) and it KILLS me to pass the cream cheese, Swiss cheese, or ANY cheese and not TOUCH it. Luckily, this is the perfect time for me because FIGS are in season and they are the ONLY fresh fruit I can't resist. So I've been buying a couple of them twice a week. Of course, they WOULD taste awfully yummy with some - you guessed it - CHEESE! Stay strong, Viv! YOU CAN DOOOOOO IT!!!!

Ha! there's fruit in it- I'm with you! And uh, Nancy D: I would rather be fat or else not eat at all than have frozen yogurt with a banana! But that's just me! Ha!

I think it might help to make a small one and eat only half. When I crave something I will eat other things to make up for it so it is better to eat a little of what I want. In the last year and a half I have gone from a size 3xlarge to a 18 and have a goal of getting down to a size 14. I know I have a long way to go but I am still working on it. Smiles to you my friend...m..

Well, at least you didn't stick your bear in the sundae. No worries, just send the sundae to me, and I'll eat it for you. Think of the calories saved!

I've been eating cake and ice cream every night for a week. Getting tired of it!

Hi Viv,I am on the same path to a healthier way of eating.Went to my sons for supper last night,I blew my diet on bar-b-Q ribs, brisket and then I had one small scoop of Rocky Road ice cream. That will only happen every now and then. I have lost about 15 lbs but, have soooo far to go.
Good luck, this is something I have been fighting my whole life...

Blessings....

Yummy!! I haven't had a banana split in years. I really don't care too much for them. BUT give me a Reeses Peanut Butter Blizzard from Dairy Queen and I would be in seventh heaven. Haven't had one of those since July. MMMMMM!! Dairy Queen is right next door to our Perfume shop. Perhaps I should go get one. Now I'm hungry for one. LOL LOL!!
