a challenge from a friend!

bit of heaven kit
(picture borrowed from Ele abitofpinkheaven)
a while back my friend Ele, from a bit of heaven hosted a little design challange.  She would supply a bunch of crafty materials and we would make something out of them.  she also included some wonderful paris them printed muslin ribbon donated from owens acres in our kits.   Today is the day we are supposed to post what we made.  We didnt have to use it all and were allowed to make more then one piece if we wanted too.
unfortunetly you know that I hadnt been feeling very crafty lately, except for that the day after JAcob died, I made a little angel on a cloudy pinkeep in memory of him, using a bunch of the supplies she had sent.  I used the bleached burlap for the pinkeep and ruffled the muslin ribbon around it.  I attached the tiny little heart charm that she had sent.  I used the love and adore tickets and I wrapped the "flag pole" with the blue ribbon.  The I made a little Jesus loves you flag out of the music paper that was in the kit.  I  used  the long hat pin  that was included also.  then to top it all off, I used the fine glitter to sparkle up the tips of the angels wings and also to the surface of the pinkeep.

IN MEMORY OF JACOB
besure to stop by Ele's blog to see what the other three girls made!  I still have lots of supplies left to make something else as well.... when I get some more ambition!  for now, Its off to bed for me.. almost midnight here and I'm exhausted!
sweet dreams!

Vivian, I am so very honored that you used the supplies to make something in memory of sweet Jacob. I have thought of you and your family often and please know I am still sending up prayers. Your pinkeep is touching and beautiful. I am very glad you were able to participate. Yes, Jesus lives you, and in time you will create more beautiful things to inspire all of us, to live life with passion. Thank you dear friend.

Viv, it's gorgeous!!! You're the only person I know who could make such a lovely tribute from various odds & ends. I know Ele is agreeing & Jacob is sending love to his grandma! I'm sending love to you, too!

I've read that "Inspiration" also means "God in Us." His Spirit lights up our minds and whispers words of love and encouragement. We take that inspiration and create with our hands and our words to reflect what we felt in our hearts. It's a beautiful process. Your baby angel is perfect and precious and reflects all the love in your heart. Bless you.

Just a couple of Sundays ago, I taught a lesson in church and used your family's faith and example to tell people that Jesus and God love us all. Thank you for sharing and reminding us of the powerful love of Jesus.

Viv,
You are so talented, and what a wonderful item to have to remind you every time you look at it, how he is indeed a little angel now...:)
