valentineys

I ordered the cutest valentines from blumchen on tuesday and they were here on thursday! I was surprised at how fast they came. And they are so cute that now I dont want to give them away. really.
At work theres about 35 of us that make little mailboxes and exchange valentines, just like if we were in grade school! this is the third or forth year that we're doing it. I wasnt going to this year, but at the last minute decided "oh, what the heck.. why not!" but I didnt want to buy the same ones at wally world or the grocery store that everyone else is buying. so I got these.

Arent they adorable?? Even cuter in person. soooooo.... I know were not supposed to, but I scanned 6 of my favorites and printed them out on heavy cardstock and now I have to cut them all out. This way I can keep the originals.. then I'll have then for another time!
I've been ordering a bunch of stuff on line this last week, I bought roving for easter needlefelting, tiny glass eyes, the valentines and some other easter trimmy stuff! I am very ready to move on to easter creating! maybe even this weekend. and.. I plan on opening my etsy shop back up with easter treats!so what does every on do for valentines day? does anyone really celebrate it? Any true romantics? I like to decorate for it and bake and give my kids stuff, but other then that, we really dont do anything anymore. I suppose I should go out to get my hubby a card though and maybe monday we'll cook steaks on the grill or maybe we should go out to eat this year! I'll have to see what he wants to do.
I made cupcakes this morning for the kids for valentines day. I usually buy them gifts of somesort, but just cant think of anything that I want to buy for anyone! so I bought some nice bakery boxes and pretty pink ribbon, will make some little valentines to tie on to the boxes and that'll be that! except for baby torry pie.. I bought him two little outfits.
I'm on call for CPS this weekend thru next thursday and thankfully its been quiet. I'm hoping it stays like that. besides, its really cold out. so, I'm hoping to stay in and warm and just poking around inside! I need to cut out all these valentines and make some simple little ones for my kids!
hey! has it been quiet in blogland or is it just me?
see yas later!
xoxoxo
mmmm!

Awww...your Valentines are SO cute! We don't do much since my kiddies are a little older. Like you, I plan to make cuppies and give each one a little gift. Not too much more though since both of my boys are doing "Insanity" right now and I doubt they would appreciate being sabotaged. :) Happy Valentine's Day!

Viv, I did the same thing for my kids -made cupcakes, and I found the cutest honeycomb heart cupcake picks at Walmart. They look kind of vintage.
Those are cute Valentines. I'm in the mood for Easter too. I don't do felting, but I like to make things out of wool felt, like mats and little animals.
Have a good crafty weekend!

Ray signed me up for a sock knitting class that starts Monday -- so that's what I'm doing for Valentines day! (for the next 3 Mondays)I'm also taking a crochet class on Wednesdays. February and March will be the months of yarn here in the Brown/Boorman household (Ray is knitting me a beautiful scarf/shawl -- pics will be on my blog next week!!!)

Hey Viv!

Dontcha love the vintage Valentines as opposed to the new ones? They have so much feeling and warmth to them. Your co-workers are definitely going to score!

Oh my gosh, how fun! I am so jealous! I loved making my Valentine box as a kid and receiving all those cute Valentineys (I say Valentineys too!). The Valentines you bought are so stinkin cute. If Hubby is not working, I'm going to make a Valentines dinner with pasta and salad. I bought him a big container of Pistachios and some Coffee for him to take to work.
I'm ready for Spring too. I went to Marshalls yesterday and they had out all these luscious Spring decorations and clothes. Oh, I was swooning! I did buy some decorations for St. Patty's Day and a few Easter eggs but now I'm kicking myself for not buying these sweet Annalee Ducks. Of course if I knew how to create amazing needle felted Ducks like you, I wouldn't have to buy them! Have the happiest of Valentines Days, Viv! Hugs and Blessings, Nan

I don't think I could part with those wonderful Valentines either. You came up with the perfect solution to share and keep at the same time.
Your cupcakes look delicious.
We aren't much for celebrating Valentine's Day. Usually we would exchange cards or gifts and go out for dinner, but I told hubby we should skip it this year as we need to watch every penny.
Wishing you a fun filled Valentine's Day!!!

I love the cute Valentine assortments. Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day.

Yummy Cup Cakes. I miss making cup cakes for my kids and grands. My grandson Cain that lives here is sick. Poor baby. He just got home from the doctor. He has an old fashion cold. He will be over this week when he feels better for his Valentines. I think I will make him some Valentine Cupcakes. You inspired me. He will like that. Thanks for putting that into my thoughts. :-)
Hugs

I couldn't part with those sweet valentines either. I really love the big eyed dog in the 3rd picture but I love them all of course.

Homemade cupcakes, especially decorated so pretty and packed up so special - Wow I can't think of anything bought that I would like more.

My favorite school memories are making valentine mailboxes and those sweet valentine parties we had in school in the 60's. That sounds so fun doing it at your office. How cool to have so many participate!

Have a wonderful night. XO's...Tracy :)
