I have a stiff neck... (just thought I let you know! lol)

3
this is where i  woke up on new years day!  I spent the night on a nest of couch cushions sleeping with marlaina and torry pie!  they rang in the new year with me!  hubby went to bed with his hurt back, leaving us to fend for ourselves.  marlaina didnt fall to sleep until 12:30 am and Torry  laid awake playing with a little battery operated candle until about 1:00.  then me, the poor old gammie?  I dozed on and off the rest of the night, one would cough, one would fall off the cushions, one would disappear all together!  Marlaina twice managed to turn herself totally around and end up and the bottom..  sort of freaked me out!  anyways finally around 4:30 I thought.. maybe I could get two solid hours in if I could really just fall asleep... but next thing I knew marlaina was sitting up looking at me and singing some little song or talking about something... that was at 6:00 am.. so we cuddled until it was clear to me that she was ready to get up and moving around!  soon after Torry woke up at 7:00...   I did take a 45 minute nap around noon.  I love those babies.. but those overnights are not good for this gammie pie!

the rest of the day I played in my craft room with my favorite little case,  Its full of little pieces of mohair and upolstery fabrics perfect for miniature bear making.  I worked on a snowman, for a late christmas gift for a flickr friend.  I hope he likes it!  I'll show you when its finished.
in the case 1
next on my crafty agenda, will be a miniature new years bear!  I feel him in my finger tips.. he wants to be born! lol!
in the case 2
well see what he ends up being..  im my head right now, hes a bear.. but that doesnt mean anything!
in the case 3
The other thing i did yesterday was make a big pot of creamy cheesy potato and ham soup with carrots and brocoli in it.   omg... is it good!   not good for the start of this years weight loss journey though..  well as soon as this pot of soup is gone... I'll get started... really... I will.. I have a wedding on oct 5.  wont be fat for that!
lol
potato soup!
Well, if I get off the computer right now, that gives me 40 minutes to get ready for work.. so I better go!
happy jan 2, 2013 everyone!

LOL, when I've had my granddaughter sleep over I know I'm not going to get much sleep, Vivian! So, I feel for you! : ) Your little bears are so cute! Do you sell them?

My back hurts for you. I told my daughter Liz, I will never sleep on the floor or on a cot again...if they want me at their house they better come up with better plans. We do get too old to sleep like that and not get sleep. Love the bears. xoxo,Susie

You are one devoted Grandma!! Can't wait to see more of your New Year's eve bear. I hope your body and neck are on the mend from your New Year's eve sleepover.

A true Grammy......giving up sleep for the little ones. I would have needed more than a 45 minute nap.
I love the little mini bear in your pictures. Hope you make some to sell.

Your grandkids will FOREVER remember the time and love you gave them. I didn't realize that so much until my 3 sweeties brought up memories - just SMALL things I did with them - and recounted them with such joy & fondness. So you are making awesome, lasting memories for your sweethearts! As for the crafting - it just makes ME happy to see you having fun! And I'm surely glad I'm nowhere NEAR your house or I'd have to break down & get INTO that soup! It sounds like a pot of HEAVEN. Sweets? Not tempting for me. Booze? I don't drink. But soup with broccoli, potatoes, and - sigh - CHEESE? Huh-uh!!! I'd HAVE to eat some! LOVE YOU and hope your work day goes fast!

Yum, we had soup also! Hope you get lots done today! I can't do without sleep! Sometimes when the Grandkids sleep over, I feel awful the next day! A nap always feels good in the middle of the day! Have a blessed day dear Viv, HUGS!

Oh my goodness! THIS gammie pie sleeps in her own bed when the grands sleep over! Ha-ha! you're brave!

I'm gearing up for my youngest girl to come have a turn of spending the night without her siblings! Once they move, we won't be able to do that. :(

Next time you do a sleep over skip the couch cushions and use an air mattress. How come it's always Mom/Grammie who gives up a good night sleep?! Hopefully someone gives you a much deserved backrub.
Your pink bear is so sweet!

Oh your creations are darling. I've been making soups myself it's that kind of weather here. Right now I have some hamburger soup on the stove, did the bean and ham, and salmon chowder. I use canned coconut milk in mine, not in the hamburger one however. Take care. Funny my neck is giving me fits too!

Love reading about your New Years with the kids. I sat up with my daughter Brandi, grandson Cain and granddaughter Brittany and we watched New Years on the TV. Saw the ball drop in New York and then 2 hours later saw the Count Down & Fire Works going off the top of Hotels on the strip in Las Vegas where the kids live and Ken & I were visiting them. Ken & Jason went to bed after they saw New York ball drop. We got to see 2013 come in twice. Once New York time and then Las Vegas time. LOL IT was funny seeing NY 2013 when it was still 2012 in NV. Glad to be home now.
