Once upon a time there lived two precious kittens, who lived with their people in a little tan house. they were not allowed to go outside unless they were on leashs and never ever were they to go outside alone. Except for one time when they escaped out of a kitchen window that one of their people left open one morning!!
the whole time they were growing up in the little tan house, they knew that there was a big white cat living out in the yard. they watched him from the windows and peeked at him and sniffed him through the porch screens. They talked to him through the door. Figgy and Frannie, the most spoiled ever kittens, were very interested in the big white cat, but he not so much about them. He was interested in the people who lived in the little tan house! He was a yard cat, a stray, who had been around for a couple years. Some of the people in the tan house would talk to him and give him little pets here and there. One of the younger people who lived in the house would sometimes feed him. And then one day, that younger person and his girlfriend moved out into their own house and they came and took the big white cat (who had been named Thomas) to live at their new house. The big white cat was oh so very happy to live in the house and be fed and loved daily! He never even thought about going outside. He was happy to be inside! Then one day, the couple that Thomas was living with moved again. This time to an apartment in town. Thomas moved with them, but soon found out that he was no longer allowed to live with them because they had a mean landlord who said so!
Poor Thomas came back to the little tan house to live in the yard again. But now it was different. He liked it inside, he loved the attention, he liked being fed everyday. and he wanted to have some people of his own. So of course the mama person of the house started feeding him and giving him attention because she felt bad for him. But the papa person of the house said she needed to get rid of him! She cant just do that... what ever is he thinking!? Thomas started spending a lot of time on the front steps waiting for the mama person to come out and talk to him and pet him. Figgy and fRannie would watch and wonder about that big white cat. finally the mama person let them meet face to face a little at a time. and found that they really dont mind each other at all. Figgy and frannie are more intersted in him then he in them. They want to smell him and see what he is all about, but Thomas just wants that mama person to pet pet pet him!
But the mama person is concerned that she should take that big white cat to the vet and get him nuetered and shots and cleaned up etc! and should have done that before ever letting figgy and frannie near him....
The problem is, then what shall she do with him. She thinks that if she did all that, that Thomas the big white cat might be able to move in.. but the papa person does not want the big white cat here.... Truthfully, the mama person would rather the big white cat had a good home of his own. but being a beat up stray, that is very unlikely to happen. So.. that is the dilema for the family and the cats at the little tan house!
there is no happy ending.. just a big white cat that needs a home and causes the mama person to worry about him and the papa person to be aggitated!
the end....

I am jumping ahead here but I think the Big White Cat will be moving in soon.
I think he has adopted ya'll Viv. If I lived close I would take him in a heartbeat...
I JUST finished reading all the posts you've written while I was in Oklahoma, & OMG! Viv, you have been a MAJORLY busy girl! Beautiful wedding, and beautiful decorations FOR that wedding! You're amazing! LOVE the Halloween stuff & WISH with all my heart I could have the big white kitty but my landlady won't let me have any pets. (Pouting over here!) Love you!!!
We have the EXACT same problem!!!!!!! I always feed the strays {always}. BUT, the stray cat, who has been around for about a year, every day.....got ahold of my sweet kitty {I never thought he would of done that}. He scratch her pretty good, had to take her to the vet, she got a cyst infection from his scratch, then he got ahold of my leg and scratched me realllly good!!
He never showed signs of meanness, but they are still animals.
I feel sorry for him, but just can't have him around doing that....esp. with a little one around too. ;-(
If we could save all those poor animals **sigh**
That is a tough problem and I don't envy you to make a decision. Good luck for everyone involved!
I think the big white cat already has a new home, and that is just how it is going to be! LOL I would really take him to the vet....soon.....LOL Thomas is home Viv, no doubt about it! :)
Eek! I have a 13 year old who has been begging for ANOTHER cat for weeks. If we didn't have a few states separating us, we take your big white cat. Here's hoping to a happy ending!!
Thank you for being such a wonderful rescuer. Unless hubby is willing to accept big white kitty, I think he should be taken to a no-kill shelter to await adoption. He will be fed, and have a roof over his head. God Bless, and good luck.
Hugs,
Meri
i think ur already attached to thomas and "whats one more cat?" teehee.
hugs
Keep Thomas and make a deal w/the vet (yet again) to get him taken care of...declawed, fixed, treated for all of his bad stuff, and then take him in. If dad really doesn't want you to, then would Beth & Torry want him (after you of course paid all of the vet stuff cause you know they wouldn't)? Baby Torry loves cats and if he was declawed and healthy then he would probably be safe for him to be around. I love Thomas. I want him to stay at your house. Remember how dad didn't want you to have Peanut or Marmalade? And he was never going to like any cat, but he LOVES them? Plus, I think Thomas would be a lap cuddler, which dad really misses from Jasper & Marmalade, since Fig & Fran will really only cuddle and nap on you. :-p
