hungry creative spirits!

I made a trip to one of my favorite shops saturday. Buffalo stamps and stuff. the store is packed from floor to ceiling with the neatest supplies. Its so easy to spend a small fortune in there. When I went in, there was no one else in there. I went by myself so I was in no hurry and I made sure to look at everything there.. and I do mean EVERYTHING. I was there a good hour and I didnt realize that there was a class going on next door. All of a sudden all these ladies started pouring into the store filling baskets full of stuff and many of them managed to get in line in front of me! I knew I was spending about 60.00 and I was thinking that I really shouldnt spend so much money on freaken pieces of paper! but I soon didnt feel so bad at all as I purposely ease dropped and watched to see what the others in line before me were buying and spending! 147.00, 165.00, 73.00, 124.00, 44.00 and 109.00. those were the just the ladies I could hear. There were probably 20 women in the store besides me. Im thinking the owner of that store made a mint in those few minutes! And what were they all buying?? Rubber stamps, inks, glitter, tools, papers, embellishments.. and who knows what else! they were making cards!

needless to say that I didnt feel quite as bad about my 60.00 after that!

Actually I feel blessed that I can afford to feed my creative spirit.. because its hungry and it likes to be fed supplies.. lots of supplies! Though I try to keep it on a bit of a diet! But I'm thinking that most of those ladies ahead of me have fat little creative spirits! lol!

anyways.. thats all folks! see yas later!

There could be far worse addictions than crafting supplies. I'm excited to see what you create. Happy Monday!

You found some great stuff, Viv. Since we don't have a scrapbook store in town, I will have to put in an order online. But it's not the same as being there, looking at it spread out.

A few years ago I worked at a rubber stamp store and we had ladies that came from miles away and spend $300.00 or more. Crafters can spend a lot to feed their addiction!

LOVE ALL THE PRETTY COLORS!!! That was a productive shopping day :) I can never walk out of a craft store without spending at least 50 bucks. Crazy, but fun :)

I see things that I need in your pile. I should probably sort through all of my supplies now that my craftroom/kids room/spare room is put together. All of my stuff is spread out in a zillion different places. What's the Melissa Frances paper?

This was so funny to read. I always want to know what everybody else's totals are so that I can be happy (IF) mine was less. Aren't we funny? :-)
Have fun with all your new supplies!

Anytime I feel guilty about spending money on what seems frivolous, I think about all the money I would be spending on therapy and the thoughts soon vanish! Think about how many people deal with life by drinking, drugs, smoking, overeating, workaholism, etc. So, we're artists who NEED to create. Not just for the love of it, but to nurture ourselves and in the process, you make others smile too. I LOVE looking at what others create. It inspires me and makes me forget all the ugliness in the world. So, I say, you go Girl! Spend that $60 and another $20 just for shits and giggles!
